How to make the most of Easter in Elsternwick Village

How to make the most of Easter in Elsternwick Village

From gifts and fresh produce to a photo with the Easter Bunny himself, Elsternwick Village has everything you need for Easter.

It’s that one weekend where kids turn the house upside down searching for chocolate eggs; when friends get together to celebrate and debate whether hot cross buns should come in any flavour other than cinnamon; and when donning bunny ears isn’t just acceptable, it’s egg-spected!

Easter is a magical time for children, and a wonderful opportunity for friends and family to come together and celebrate.

Whether you’re having those you love over for an Easter feast, or just organising an egg-ceptionally tricky Easter egg hunt for the kids in the back yard, Elsternwick Village has everything you need.

Psst, you might also run into some-bunny who is particularly busy this time of year…

Meet the Easter Bunny

Hold the press: the Easter Bunny has confirmed that he’s taking time out of his busy Easter preparations to meet all the boys and girls of Elsternwick Village.

The bunny we all love and his fairy helper will visit Elsternwick on Thursday, April 6 from 10am – 2pm.

From 1.15pm – 2pm he’ll be stationed at Elsternwick Plaza for photos, and word is that he loves a selfie with children, and always has plenty of chocolate eggs to share!

Plan your Easter feast

Food is an intrinsic part of Easter, whether it be cultural (hot cross buns) or simply entertaining at home (celebrations for family get-togethers) – and you can find everything you need for your Easter feast in Elsternwick Village.

Coles has all the essential ingredients including a huge range of fish, as well as hot cross buns and Easter eggs, but if you’re entertaining Jewish friends, make sure you pop into Kosher Kingdom.

For the freshest fruit and vegetables, head down to Dirito’s Quality Fruits; and if you’re hosting a barbecue, stock up on meat supplies at Peter Da Silva Poultry & Selected Meats.

Uncover a special gift

Sometimes we want to give gifts that go beyond a chocolate egg; sometimes people have allergies that prevent them from indulging; some people just don’t like chocolate. Okay, very few, but we still need to remember them at Easter.

At Elsternwick Village, Easter gift-giving is easy. You can never go wrong with flowers or a gorgeous pot plant from Crabtree & Weeks or Green Envy, and you’ll always hit the mark with a personally selected book from Avenue Bookstore.

Drop into Ruby’s Gifts for a lovely piece of jewellery or for Judaica products, or homewares to suit every decor at Dalgarno’s of Elsternwick.

If you are handing out chocolate eggs this Easter, why not offset the edible indulgences with the gift of a session at Yoga Tree, or a workout at Zap Fitness or 6 Degrees South?
