Melbourne Holocaust Museum
Built by a community of survivors, the Melbourne Holocaust Museum in Elsternwick is an institution dedicated to the memory of the six million Jews who were murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators between 1933 and 1945.
The MHM houses two exhibitions: a permanent Holocaust exhibition named ‘Everybody Had a Name’, and an exhibition for ages 10+ named ‘Hidden: Seven Children Saved’ which focuses on the stories of seven children who survived the Holocaust in hiding. Their survivor immersive testimony experience ‘Walk with Me’ allows visitors to walk alongside Holocaust survivor Szaja Chaskiel z”l as he revisits his hometown in Poland. Holding regular, thought-provoking events, the MHM is a must-visit in the Elsternwick area.
