Join us for our annual events in Elsternwick Village

Elsternwick Village is a vibrant shopping precinct and community that puts on a variety of events throughout the year.

The events are run by Elsternwick Mainstreet Committee on behalf of the traders that operate across the precinct. The traders put on these events as a way to thank shoppers and locals for supporting their businesses.

Festive season: Family Fun Day

Our Family Fun Day is an annual event that we run to celebrate the festive season.

Hosted on a Saturday in December, Santa and his friends roam the Elsternwick Village precinct and spread the festive cheer. 

Visitors can also jump aboard an antique fire truck and enjoy a free ride down Glen Huntly Rd.

The family-friendly day gives shoppers and visitors to the precinct the chance to listen to their favourite festive tunes played by live musicians. There’s also a range of entertainment to enjoy, including balloon creations by a balloon modeller, face painting, circus performers, an arts and crafts workshop table, and the chance to get a photo at the festive photo wall.

Our festive celebrations also acknowledge our wonderful Jewish community, with Chanukah street decorations and activities on the day.

The day is filled with plenty of fun for everyone so we hope you can join us!

Easter

Every year for Easter we have a special visit from the Easter Bunny and his helper.

The Easter Bunny roams around the Elsternwick Village precinct meeting and greeting shoppers, and hands out free chocolates. You’re welcome to say hello and snap a selfie with the Easter Bunny too.

We also station in Elsternwick Plaza to allow visitors the chance to take photos with the Easter Bunny.

As part of our Easter celebrations, we run an egg hunt competition across the precinct – participants have to find the giant green Easter eggs hidden in shop window displays to go in the running to win a prize.

Main Streets of Australia Week

Held in conjunction with Mainstreet Australia, Main Streets of Australia Week is a national campaign to celebrate the value that main streets and town centres provide to the community.

Each year we have hosted an event to mark Main Streets of Australia Week and to celebrate our wonderful shops and businesses in Elsternwick Village. This has included a range of live musicians and circus performers across the precinct to keep people entertained while they shop, dine and enjoy the day.

It’s just a small way we celebrate our local shops as part of Main Streets of Australia Week.
